Kids love dirt
My kids love playing in the dirt. For the last three days, they have been enjoying a big pile of dirt and sand in our yard—there are some guys here doing work on the outside of the house using that dirt/sand pile. No one seems to mind my kids’ alternate use of the work materials. I didn’t know dirt could be so thoroughly embedded in their scalps and in the tiny curves of their ears. It’s amazing where dirt can stick. They were having a blast. I was thinking about their ultimate end—a bath. Of course, to them, a bath is just another play venue. So, there’s no loss there. There is something wonderful in watching kids in the midst of play. Giggles and smiles scream: life is sweet.
